Natural live yoghurt - thrush??

Question: so you dip the tampon in the yoghurt, and leave it in for how long?
Answers: DO NOT use a tampon to insert the yogurt!

Tampons cause vaginal infections such as thrush by preventing vaginal cleaning, giving bacteria and yeast a pores place to multiply, and if using commercial tampons they will also introduce chemicals to your vagina that can throw the vaginal pH out and so in turn throwing the balance of natural vaginal flora out. Yogurt is used for vaginal infections because it contains lactobacillus acidophilus that also happens to be bacteria found in healthy vaginas, it works because if produces hydrogen peroxide that kills the excess yeast in the vagina.

Introduce something like tampons that would be bad for vaginal health then that may cancel out the beneficial properties of the yogurt to treat the infection. Also of course tampons used when not menstruating puts you at unnecessary risk that is further amplified by the fact the tampons when inserted into the vagina will absorb discharge adding further to the risk of vaginal splitting.

You would use plain pro-biotic yogurt by putting it into your vagina and over the vulva before you go to bed, then rinse it off in the morning. For during the day time get yourself some tampon applicators, put the yogurt into the applicators and freeze them, you then have little yogurt suppositories that will melt once inserted.

I would not advise walking around with yogurt in your vagina all day, it would smell after a while, so not suitable for when you are say at work and unable to wash it out and re-apply, I would instead advise you use a little diluted tea tree oil to wash your vulva and put into your vagina for during the day.
get a life'''' sad person
I have never heard of it actually being put on a tampon and inserted, and I think this could casue problems...I certainly wouldn't want to try it.
But yoghurt, applied with clean hands around the outer area, is very soothing. Cold is better! :) I have used it in the past and my best friend who is diabetic never uses anything else for her frequent bouts of thrush.
Ignore the people who very obviously don't know what they are talking about ;)
i leave mine in for half hour then put another in

First of all, thrush (oral candidiasis) is in the mouth, not the vagina. You're talking about vaginal candidiasis. The easiest way to do this is to buy a kit like Monostat. Just spend the money and get one. Use it. Clean and save the applicator. The next time you have candidiasis, fill the applicator with yogurt and apply it in the same way you used the Monostat. If you really want to use a tampon, change it three times a day.

If you already have candidiasis, eating yogurt may or may not help with this. It makes a better preventive measure. Direct application works.
You do not dip the tampon in the yoghurt and leave it in for how long at all (thats madness I tell you), please do not attempt this. The only time you should wear a tampon is when your having a period. Apply yoghurt EXTERNALLY not INTERNALLY. To ensure getting rid of thrush go see your doctor so he or she can perscribe you something for gods sake as you may need an antibiotic aswell as a Canastan pessary insert.
overnight.x
no just rub it on with your clean hand and leave it over night
you have the live yogurt as cold as possible ,put it on as often as possible ,and it ,s great for thrush it really works no you dont eat it .
...ummm..... I think you're supposed to EAT the yoghurt....??
DING DING DING.....we have a winner for retarded question of the month
You eat the yogurt silly.
I wouldn't leave it in for more than 4 hours at a time (as per tampon guidelines). Or overnight is good too.

AND YES PEOPLE, BELIEVE IT OR NOT YOGURT CAN GO IN BOTH ENDS!!!
yes you can use live yogurt on a tampon to help cure vaginal thrush just leave it in the same as you would a tampon. Best overnight as you are lying down. other things that could help are not using fabric softeners or bubble bath etc in the bath.
Apply the yoghurt after a bath or shower, leave it on overnight, then wash completely of the next morning
??????????
um, no. You eat fresh yogurt, you do not use it as a suppository.
