What is thrush and is it catching??
Question: i went to doctors today and they said i have thrush but i forgot to ask them wat it is they gave a pessary which is like a tampon but it disolves in 3 days only the girls will know wat a pessary is and is it catching and did i get it
Answers: I 'ts a fungal yeast infection & it is catching, so if you have sex your partner may get it. A pessary is a small tablet thing that you insert into the vagina with the applicator provided; & it usually clears up in about three days. However if your susceptible to yeast infections; some diabetics are then it's just something that happens. It sounds like this is the first time you've had it so it's nothing to be concerned about; but if you get it a lot go back to your doc. OH !!! & if the itching is unbearable put some natural live youghourt down below it works wonders.
Thrush is something most women (and some men) get from time to time, it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's only a yeast infection, the little bacteria monsters that cause it thrive in warm, moist conditions - i get it from time to time, normally from wearing tight jeans too much or I used to get it from wearing thongs - needless to say i don't wear them now! The pessary will sort it, you just need to ensure you change your undies regularly (not saying you don't, but you never know!), wear only cotton undies and keep yourself nice and clean and use some Canestan should you feel it coming on again.
It's hard being a woman!
Thrush is a yeast infection which most women will get at sometime in there life. I was diagnosed with it two weeks ago and I was given two lots of cream one which had to be applied internally and the other was for around the outside of my vagina. If you are in a relationship it maybe advised for your partner to be treated to as a woman can pass it on to a man but this does not mean that anyone has been unfaithful as it is very common in woman of all ages
hope this has helped you out
Its a yeast infection in the mouth. You need nystatin or something similiar to it. Also I dont believe its catching.
It's a small garden bird which is notoriously hard to catch
I'll get my coat....................
Can't believe how sexist this is - why would only women know what a pessary is - anyway - it is a yeast infrction that can be passed from person to person - thru intercourse -it can also be an oral infection - it can also be attributed to antibiotics - if you have taken antibiotics recently then this may be the cause.
Thrush is a yeast infection in a woman's lower region. It can be caused by poor hygiene, too warm an area, not enough air circulating there. The area gets warm/hot, it makes an ideal place for bacteria (yeast cells) to multiply and grow. I have heard that by washing, applying a natural Yoghurt will remedy this, as there is something in Yoghurt that counter acts this....a pessary is medication that is placed inside you that dissolves in the affected area...Im a guy...sheeesh.
its a yeast infection
you can pass it on by having unprotected sex.
But its a chemical imbalance, so you can get it any time. Pessaries are rubbish, they're uncomfortable and dont dissolve properly. I'd get canesten duo. the tablet works really quickly and the cream soothes the itching and burning.
I feel for you, I had it constantly when I was preggers. ;-)
Everyone gets thrush at some time or other. It's a yeast infection. Usually people acquire it after a course of anti-biotics. I will go away if treated, as you are doing. Nothing to worry about in the long run. Even new born babies can have it just after birth!
it is a form of yeast infection, and that comes from your own inner body's ph balance.
To avoid getting yeast infections, use water/vinegar douches at the first sign of one, avoid too much sugar and white flour in your diet, make sure your bowels move at least once a day (twice would be better) by eating whole foods instead of processed and get fiber in your diet.
Also drink plenty of water instead of sodas and stuff.
No, it's not catching but it sure itches like crazy, AND it IS preventable by living healthy.
