Anesthesia and depo shot??

Question: I was given anesthesia for surgery, but I was also on the depo shot. Will the anesthesia affect the components of the shot and render it useless?
Answers: Absolutely no effect on the depo from anesthesia. Smart of you to ask, though. :)

In fact, even if you got antibiotics, the depo should still be doing its job:

You'll be fine. I had surgery while under anesthesia and on depo provera with no problems.

Just remember that even depo is not 100% effective, so you can get pregnant on it whether you were under or not.
I have not found anything that states that it can. Best bet would be to call hospital and ask to talk to a nurse in recovery. Then, ask her/him if it can as they would best be able to tell you. most of the time, it is in your record as having had the shot so they would be bound to tell you if it could, (as they usually do with antibiotics and such). they will not be mad or upset if you call. actually they get calls like that a lot! Hope this helps!
