Answers: You can still have sex while you are on your period. It won't hurt you or anything. In fact, I always found it helped ease my cramps and I was much more into it. To each her own...
You do need to use some form of birth control as you can still get pregnant. Be prepared for a mess, too.

Are you referring to PMS? If you get it bad, you could always tell your partner what your schedule is for periods and BOTH of you could work at not tackling hard issues during that time. If mood swings come, he should be understanding and not angry or mocking. But also, I think many women who have PMS know its coming and use it as an excuse rather than try to work with it and actively calm down. I remind myself that I may be seeing things as more emotionally extreme than they are, and that helps.
