I think I have a disease in my eye??

Question: Ever since wearing contacts, Ive been seeing bacteria in my eye. It looks like the bacteria slides under a magnification in biology class. Its so scary because they float all around my eye and it distrots my vision. Is my coneal wearing off? Should I stop wearing contacts?
Answers: I used to see those all the time with my contacts also. I had my eyes checked cause it was real scary. In my case, there wasn't anything found. You might want to stay out of your contacts until you can get in to see your eye doctor just to make sure all is well. The tipoff to my advising a trip to your eye doctor is that you say your vision is distorted. Any time vision is distorted, you should have that looked at...could just be a prescription problem...or could be something else...and not one person online can accurately diagnose that problem...only your eye doctor can by taking a look at what is going on.

As for your cornea question: The outermost corneal layer is called the epithelium. It acts to proctect the anterior chamber (where the light enters the eye), iris, lens, and back of the eye. This epithelium is like our skin...the epithelium regenerates itself. The cells are so small that we never notice them. I do not think your cornea is wearing off...at least not anything outside of normal...cause we all have corneal epitheliums that regenerate like our skin, hair, nails every single day.
Make sure to go see your optometrist. I had that happen to me. It was an infection that I got from my contacts. Goos luck!
You need to contact your eye Dr. for an accurate answer to that question. There is something called floaters that you are probably seeing and I have the same problem. Make sure that your contacts are thoroughly cleaned everyday before using them. Check out this website but also ask your Dr.
Some people just can't wear contacts like ME. Because I had the same Problem. I went to a surgen and had lasick and its wonderful. some places is cheap 250 $ for one eye.

Go see your doctor. It can be an infection or it can be something more serious. It is called a floater and they are caused by many things. You could have a serious condition like Uveitus or something that can be cleared up easily. Don't listen to the above poster and find a cheap doctor to do lasik. If you are going to get lasik done, pick a doctor that is reputable - not cheap. It is your eye for heavens sake! I have seen a lot of damage caused by lasik gone bad. My husband paid $800.00 an eye ten years ago and he can still see 20/20.
