Do I have astigmatism??
Question: I'm not completely sure what astigmatism is but....
if im watching TV, the words have a fuzz around them, then I squint my eyes and I can see the letters better. I used to not have this before and had 20/20 vision. Is it possible to develop it?

astigmatism has to do with your eye shape. Instead of having eyes shaped like oranges, round.. they are shaped like lemons... oblong.. Its possible to develop as you age.. but once you stop growing, your vision correction stabilizes for a while, until you hit 30-40 years old.
Astigmatism is when one of surfaces of the eye (can be the cornea which is the front surface, or the lens within the eye) is not entirely spherical.
to put it simply: the Non- astigmatic eye = football shape..
the astigmatic eye = rugby ball shaped
Most people have at least a very small degree of astigmatism.
Talk to your optician!
Astigmatism is oval shaped pupils instead of round.Yes you can develop it it also comes and goes and eventually it can get worse. It will also feel like yours eyes cant focus if you look behind you and then forwards again more blurry at night.
its sounds more like a very minor case of myopia to me rather then astigmatism, there maybe astigmatism but things would appear rather distorted from all distances (think of a fun house mirror)
im guess you just have extremely low myopia!
get an eye exam to be sure!
