When I suddenly get up, my vision darkens then clears??
Question: When I'm like sitting down or laying down or something like that and suddenly get up, I can't see for about 2 to 3 seconds then my vision clears. Is this a sign for something? Thanks for your time.
Answers: i think its most likely to be normal blackout...its a condition called postural hypotension. if you are lying down and suddenly stand up, your blood pressure suddenly falls due to the gravitational pull, your body takes few seconds to respond by increasing heart beat or vasoconstriction (its a normal physiological phenomenon, but it can also be aggrevated if you are suffering from things like anaemia or are generally unwell, so if this is a new thing, then see your GP, and if it is something that has been going on for years, then dont worry)
hope this helps
thats sort of like blacking out. i know what youre takling about it happens to me all the time. it comes from being dehydrated and not eating enough nutrients (like iron, protein and other stuff from fruits veggies and meat). i started eating better and it happens less and less to me. or just get up more slowly
This is most likely caused by a sudden drop in the blood pressure to your eye upon suddenly changing your body posture. If the retina temporarily experiences a drop in blood pressure it would respond with a darkening of your vision.
maybe you should get them checked, or maybe it's just your eyes adjusting to the light
