Will I not be able to wear contacts once my prescription goes up to -9.00? I'm at a -7.50 now!??

Question: I was looking at ordering contacts online and I saw that the option for the power of the contacts was only up to -9.00. I'm already at a -7.50. Does that mean that if my eyes get worse than a -9.00, I won't be able to get contacts?
Answers: Hello there! Why are you anticipating your eyes will go past a -9.00? I know eyesight does change as you grow and it can either change for the better or worse. Eyesight normally (not always) will level off and stop changing, usually in late teens, early twenties (well until you are 40 then your reading vision will change). Its not like your whole life your eyes just keep getting worse and worse... we would all be blind by 30 lol

Anyways I wouldn't worry about it, because even if your eyes do go past a -9.00 you will just need a different brand/type of contacts. Soo relax everything will be fine :)
It's only your specific brand that only goes up to -9.00. Other brands go higher. if your prescription gets worse than -9.00, your optometrist will need to switch you to a different contact lens.

It depends on the specific brand, but there are brands that do go higher than -9.00
