Follow-up eye exam, I already have my trial pair, but they are uncomfortable...??
Question: Ok, I have my follow-up eye exam in about 7 hours... It's been 1 week since my initial exam. The doctor already gave me a trial pair, but they are kind of uncomfortable... I'd like to try the other brand... Will he let me do this, because I've already gotten one trial pair, but like I said, they are really uncomfortable.
The cost was 80 dollars, and that included the pre-exam, exam, and trial pair of contacts.
I got my eye exam at Wal-mart.
Thank you!
Answers: Well, this is one of the reasons for the follow-up exam; to make sure that the lenses are fitting properly and comfortably, that your seeing well, and to make sure that you like them. And if you don't, he will change the brand for you. Just make sure you tell your doctor everything that you are experiencing so they out you in a lens that will work for you.
abslutely. That's what the trial is for, to make sure you have a good fit before actually ordering. Make sure you wear the lenses to the Dr. though, so they can see what the problem is.
Sometimes it takes more than one try to find the right lens. I had my prescription adjusted when I went to my follow-up appointment, and got a new trial pair. After I ordered my lenses, they told me that they would give me another pair if I needed one to tide me over until my lenses came in.
It's been a few years, but they had to change mine and they gave me a new trail pair.
If your trial pair is bothering you, the eye doctor shouldn't have any problem giving you a different brand to try. That's really why they give trial pairs; to see what works for you before you get ready to order your contacts, only to find out they don't work well for you. He should let you have as many trials as you need until you and he both feel satisfied with a particular kind of contacts.
Just explain to him in detail what's going on with your current trial pair, and he should be able to recommend another type of contacts that will work better for you.
