Is it bad that i'v been sleeping in my contacts for 3 months straight??

Question: It feels fine. i forget i have them in.
Answers: yeah I do the exact same, nothings wrong I don't think! Don't worry about it, if they start to irritate, clean em for sure!
Technically yes, it's 'bad' .. although that does depend on the type of contact lenses. Some research has proved wearers who don't remove their lenses before bed have an increased risk of developing keratitis, or other eye infections than those who take them out because they reduce the amount of oxygen reaching the eyes. You can get extended wear contact lenses which are made from silicone, this gets rid of the problem, allows more oxygen to the eyes, and you can wear them overnight :)
I got into that bad habit and then got an eye infection (corneal ulcer). I lucked out, but if it's in the center of your vision you can go blind. You can also limit your ability to wear contacts again. I leanred the hard way to wear my contacts in limited doses. I take them out when I get home from work.
thats absolutely horrible. my brother has blind spots in one of his eyes that are from that. don't be lazy....just take them out!
Yes it is very dangerous for you to be wearing your contacts like you have been. You are putting your eyes at risk for ulcers and infections. Both of which could lead to permanent blindness. You need to clean your contacts daily.
Yes it is very bad! When you over wear your contacts you are just asking for trouble. The longer you wear a pair of contacts consecutively (especially if they are not made to be worn like that) the more protein/lipid/inorganic matter deposits build up... this clogs up your lenses and deprives your cornea of oxygen. A cornea deprived of oxygen is VERY prone to infection and ulcers among many other problems. Some of these complications can lead to inability to wear contact lenses and even loss of vision. Hardly worth the convenience of being lazy isn't it??? Want to see what a corneal ulcer can look like http://www.md.pims.org/operationalmed/Si... http://www.littlerockeye.com/photogaller... not too pretty huh?
This can happen when you over wear your contacts and deprive your cornea of oxygen! I would say the best thing for you to do is take your contacts out.... leave them out for awhile to let your eyes recover! Schedule an appointment with your eye doctor to check your eyes for damage! :)
it'll make your eyes prone to protein deposits and it seriously reduces the oxygen your eyes get. you might not go blind now, but waait 'til you're older cataract city....

yes, its bad.

is it bad that i havent changed the oil in my car for 3 years? it drives fine, i cant tell any difference. yes, its bad.

is it bad that i have smoked 3 packs a day for the last 3 years? i feel fine. i forget what its like to not smoke. yes, its bad.

anyone who posts here that its okay and they do it and you'll be fine...is flat out wrong. sleeping in any contact lens that long causes serious short and long term problems. infection, corneal neovascularization, corneal limbal stem cell dysfunction, etc etc etc ad nauseum. yes, its bad.

*NO* lens, not even silicone lenses as mentioned by other posters, is designed for 3 straight months of uninterrupted extended wear (sleeping in them)
I'm sorry to break it to you, but it's very bad!! Your contacts need to be cleaned everyday and your eyes need to rest. I know it feels fine, i went 2 weeks without taking them out, but then they eventually start burning. Take them out right away if you're not doing anything. Let your eyes rest until tomorrow. It is very dangerous, can lead to blindness, or eye infections.
Be safe
Good luck
YES!!! (If they are not made to sleep in.) When you close your eyes your eyes don't get as much oxygen and w/ the contacts in they don't get any oxygen causing the contacts to dry out and stick the the cornea/lens. My friend tore his cornea off by doing this. He wore them one night and went to take them out and they were so stuck it tore it off. It also causes bacteria to gather more on your contacts.
Out of everyone I would listen to PrinceIDoc! He's awesome!
