Question Question ???

Question: I know the internet is no place for diagnosis or whatever, but something wierd happened and i just want to knwo what it MIGHT be.
A couple hours ago I felt like killing myself. I almost did it too. (dont tell me how suicide is not the answer or whatever, i dont need a lecture.)
But now all of a sudden I'm happy and feel better than I've felt in weeks. The mood swing was a little freaky.
I was recently diagnosed with depression and put on zoloft.
I'm a young teenager, what could this be??
I get wierd mood swings sometimes, but it hasnt happened in like a month or so.
Answers: Call your doctor. Antidepressants can cause feelings of suicide in children and teenagers...and it's a side effect of the medication. Also, don't just stop taking the medication either. You need to get in contact with a medical professional immediately and figure out what to do.

This is a well-known side effect and shouldn't be ignored.
You should talk to the doctor that prescribed the medicine as soon as possible (Monday Morning). And have someone stay with you just in case it happens before then.
PMS can cause stuff like that, PMDD, Bi-Polar disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and even a hormone imbalance such as thyroid disease.
idk, did somthing tramatic happen recently, did u think about somthing, important, but yes i used to want to do that too, but i did move on. same thing almost, but it took a few weeks to feel ok. somtimes i wake up depressed, or happy. but this is just a part of teenhood most likely. im a teen too, it happens
Bipolar or borderline personality disorder have mood swings.

and I am glad you didn't try to kill yourself..

The Zoloft is for anxiety and /or depression. If you notice these mood swings coming more often it you may be experiencing manic disorders, Bipolar . This can be controlled with meds and therapy. Therapy should also be combined with Zoloft for your condition now. These meds are tools not cures. Let you parents and doctor know what you are experiencing. Also, this maybe a side effect of the Zoloft.
STOP the Zoloft but first call your MD immediately. You may need to hospitalized for a short time. Wow, scary. Antidepressants can cause thoughts of suicide.
Or maybe rapid cycling manic-depression...
Either way call teh MD or go to the ER. What if you get this spell again, huh? At least tell a family member!!!!!
I think it's all because of the whole teen thing. Don't worry, I get that feeling too but when I think about it, why would I be depressed for? I just usually have a small reason like distant between stuff etc.. You know, the whole teenage phase. It's going through puberty *nods*.
