Could i have the wrong diagnosis??
Question: i have been on meds for schizophrenia for 10 yrs or longer, i keep having memory lapes and all the syptoms on demintia like my family doctor once said.what should i do go to my family doctor and keep complaining to him or go to find a neurologist, my psychartist i see now says he does not treat dementia patients.only schizophrenia, biploar . i could have been taken the wrong meds for yrs.
Answers: Get a few more opinions from different doctors. Disorders are misdiagnosed all the time.
Hello Debbiegeri. What are your symptoms? Do you hallucinate? Do you hear voices or have sudden thoughts?. What are the symptoms of dementia?...You should find another psychiatrist not a neurologist. i know people with similar situations that see all three doctors.
