Can Parkinson's cause Anxiety or Disphasia??

Question: I am a Nurses assistant and I have a patient with Parkinson's.
She has severe Anxiety and Trouble swallowing.
Also, She is always saying she's Never comfortable because she feels She is Suffocating or trapped.
Is this A common Side effect or Could it be something else?
Also, What can I do to ease her Mind and make her more comfortable and less On edge?
She also has Mild Dementia... Is that a cause too?
Help me if you can,
Thanks.
Laura.
ps. Sorry about spelling :
Answers: good for you to reach out to her and help. My father had Parkinson's for 15 years before he died. the last 3 months were awful with dementia, couldn't swallow, couldn't talk. It was so sad. In fact I think he died because he aspirated food into his lungs. Not much you can do to make her more comfortable. Not suprising she feels like she's suffocating as the muscles stop working, hence hard to talk, frustration and anxiety and sometimes irrational behaviour. Dad was unable to stay home so we had to put him in a nursing home as his care was beyond our families capabilities. God bless you in doing this work as it is very hard and you are special.
