CHRISTIANS: How do you surpress sexual drive??
Question: If you cant masturbate or have sex, how do you surpress sexual drive? I have tried going 3 days without masturbation and feel insane. I will try to pray more but I feel like I am failing.
I have succeeded in not masturbating (or sex obviously) but here's the hardest part: Not THINKING about sex, especially when I see a nice looking women!!! The Bible says if you look at another woman lustfilly you've already sinned so I dont know HOW on Earth I can control this!!!
I know Satan tries to tempt you, so if I see a beautiful woman how long do I have to get the thought of SEX out of my head, before God considers it sin ? Seriously?

You are not going to like my answer, but i shall answer your question in an objective and unbiased manner.
Sex drive is a biologial function. It is also a wonderful experience which makes the act of reproduction a loving and if you like spiritual act.
Go along with your body's feelings and not against them.

Masturbation is not a sin. It is not mentioned as something you should not do anywhere in the bible. So masturbation is a great gift from God to help you control your sexuality. NOw you must not look at porn and you must not masturbate with thoughts of a girl from school. However, if you masturbate only as you feel the need this is not a problem. Because we men are genetically wired to visual stimulation it is very hard to not get aroused when looking at girls from school etc. So what you have to do is use your self control to keep those thoughts and feelings under control. IF you slip once in awhile pray for strength and foregiveness and let Christ handle it. Good luck and remember just masturbation in the privacy of your room by yourself is not a sin. Also, sex is not a sin when done with a partner of your choice. YOu just can't be promiscuos.

But whenever I see a good looking guy I think about sex, kind of like you when you see a good looking girl...
But yeah, most of the time I think a few things...
(1)Yuck that's gross...
(2)With the sexual image in my head I freeze it and a imaginary whiteboard earaser goes across the screen of my mind and wipes it clean while I think to myself, 'God, please no, don't let me fall prey to this kind of sin...'
(3) I imagine God standing right next to me. (And with the stuff that I'm thinking about it gets quite awkward)
(4) The same time I think about sexual stuff I pray for forgivness and God's help.
As soon as you think it it's a sin, but you sound really remorseful. It's a natural thing to think about sex, sinful, but natural, and most people can't help it.
But as long as you are TRULY sorry, then God will forgive you.
I don't agree with stacey who thinks you can sin as much as you like all because you have a free forgiveness ticket... that's wrong...

2. I think that if you are making an effort to not have those thoughts, that is all that can be asked of you. It is natural and necessisary for you to have those thoughts to keep the species alive.
3. God made you with those desires, there is nothing wrong with them unless you focus on them or act them out.
Do your best to keep your thoughts clean. Dont focus your energy on sex, and recognise that sometimes you may need to 'take care of yourself' because it will help to keep your thoughts off sex the rest of the time. Its also healthy for your body.
