Answers: Variety of exercise is the key I have found. For example..an exercise called Mountain Climbers. Its from a workout that also contains a section for females and males which is excellent.
Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup position
and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are
moving in under your chest and then back out to starting
position. It sort of resembles climbing a mountain but flat on
the floor. If you want an advanced version, you can also shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward in
addition to the leg movements. This really makes it a full
body exercise and MUCH more difficult than standard mountain climbers.
After finishing each exercise, rest about 30 seconds before
starting the next exercise. Rest about 1-2 minutes after
completing each tri-set before repeating.
This will give you one of the best ab workouts you've ever had
without even doing any direct ab exercises. You'll see what I
mean after you try it!
Once you get away from the myth that a 1000 crunches and 500 situps a day is all you need to do for great abs, then amazing results can be seen.
There is a completely free 65 page ebook about exercise, nutrition, abs and stomaches in particular at http://www.stayprotected.com that you can download (no catch!) and it is excellent.
It helped me greatly.

Sure doing alot of crunches seems like the obvious choice, but if you have a layer of fat over your abs you are never going to see those abs. So i recommend doing cardio (running, jogging, biking, ect...) along with crunches, but make sure that you do at least 15-20 minutes 3-5 times a week. Also you are going to want a healthy diet.
Keep your weight down because even the most developed abdominal muscles won't show if they are covered by a layer of fat. Beyond that, do tons and tons of crunches (center, left side and right side) (SLOW crunches, not fast ones, and hold it at the top of the curl) and then while laying on your back, raise your feet 6 inches off of the floor and hold it. Scissor kicks with your legs while on your back works great too. Do this routine DAILY.
do A LOT of cruches on all sides and sit ups. go to the gym also and work out to saty in shape because you cant see musle under fat. usually if u do a bout 20 cruches like right before you go to sleep then that will help kick in better.
I've asked some guys I know about this. You have to have a very strict diet you follow that low fat high protein low sugar. Then you have to do specific exercises for your stomach for about half an hour and do lots of cardio throughout the week so you work off all the fat on your stomach and people can see your tough work.
My source is really good, I trust him. Now if I could follow his advice that would be another thing!
Don't just do regular ab exercises (crunches, sit-ups, flutter kicks, etc). Be sure to use some weighted ab exercises because, while doing sit-ups and crunches will help, the most it will do is get your abs rock hard with a little definition. If you want maximum definition, go for weighted exercises.
