What is the best way to lose a beer gut??

Question: I go to the gym 4 times a week and still cant get rid of it. I admit, I do like a beer (or two!). I only do cardio at the gym. Is there an exercise that specifically targets the gut? I understand I wont get six pack abs. I'm not looking for that. Just looking to slim down.
Answers: Stop drinking beer.
Don't overwork the abs. You can't spot lose weight.
Hear, that everybody? You CAN'T lose weight in only one area, without losing weight over your whole body.
Eat right, exercise. If it seems too hard, remember it's supposed to hurt. Suck it up and work harder.
Weight training would be more effective than cardio, and of course target your abs.
weight training will make you eat more so once you stop weight training (like I did) the beer gut comes back...

doing weights is fine because it's excercise. if you want to do it well, cardio is the best. it takes the longest time to achieve but you get the best results.

what happens when you gain that beer gut is the stomach moves forward, therefore all the organs and the connecting veins and whatever also move forward, the heart has more body to pump round so it pumps harder and faster eventually it enlarges from all that added pressure and excercise and the next think you know, you've got what's called a 'weak heart' all muscles get weak if you overwork them and the heart is a muscle.

weak hearts lead to high blood pressure and once you're there there's no turning back; diabetes is just a question of time and once you have diabetes your life is pretty much a waiting game
where you have to really look after yourself if you want to get anywhere.

so to stop all that from happening, you need to help your heart regain strength and cardio not weight training is the best for that.
guys that do weights professionally always wind up with joint problems (like I have) and heart attacks (like my dad has had)
don't go the way we went: do it properly, through cardiovascular excercises like riding a bike, skip rope jumping, jogging, swimming whatever floats your boat so long as it's cardio: and of course a little lifting of the weights won't hurt you, just don't get addicted to it, like I did!
It may be that your body is more fond of carbohydrates than the average person, otherwise your exercise plan should have taken it off by now.

I don't know what exercise is best, but suggest you check out symptoms link at www.hufa.org and click on uncontrolled weight gain to get some info on why your body may be fighting you on this issue.
GET OFF THE COUCH YOU BUM!! WATCHING FOOTBALL AND STRANING YOUR ABS TO GO THE FRIDGE DOESNT CUT IT... Eat healthy food, but in moderation, dont eat after 7, at 9'oclock every night I do 4 sets of 25 crunches, 45 secs in between, you wont have any definition till you lose weight...
sit ups lots of sit ups
plus jump rope
sit-ups and running
what you need to do is try some push ups it helps.
No beer and a strength building workout targeting the abs.

stop drinking beer!
#1 stop drinking beer!
#2 reduce total carb intake
#3 increase fiber, natural is better than suppliments
#4 read the South Beach Diet Book. A lot of really good info about nutrition and slimming down.
