Predator/Molester????

Question: When I was 16 & a Jr. in H.S.;I broke my ankle during a JV football game.It was a schoolday afternoon.Emergency room determined that I had a spiral fracture of the tibia & said I would need surgery to shorten it & put in a thigh high cast.(It scared me when they said shorten it,cause I thought they were going to shorten my leg.)
I had to stay overnight & I was in a room for 2,but I was the only patient. After visiting hours, an intern -looking guy came in & said he was sent there by the office to do a Pre-Op. He closed the curtain around us.He had a clipboard & asked alot of ques. bout the injury. Then started to perform a physical. He did the usual BP;listened to chest, etc. Then he palpated my torso @ the time was in great shape.(couldn't pinch my abs)Then he removed my briefs.& put his finger up my groin & felt around my privates. He had me turn over.THEN came the anal/prostate exam. After he finished,he turned me over.I was erect,he had strange look of triumph. Was I abused?Hosp. SOP?
Answers: That is very creepy.

A rectal examination is sometimes necessary when checking for appendicitis, or when checking ano rectal conditions like haemorrhoids, or to check for prostatic conditions in older men, but not for a fractured tibia in a 16 year old. Sixteen year olds do not need prostate examinations unless they are specifically complaining of symptoms suggesting prostate disease.

A good doctor will always explain what they are doing in any intimate examination, and why. They will also check they have your consent.

Palpating your genitals while doing a rectal examination is definitely abuse. There is no legitimate medical reason for doing this.

I'm sorry to say it, but your intuition is correct.

PS: they should have explained that to reduce a fracture means to put it back in place, not to shorten it. However, this seems like a comparatively minor failure in their duty of care to a vulnerable kid under the circumstances.
Gay men predators??? Get real. Gays don't attack boys. Most likely it was a Straight child molester. Sure sounds like you were molested, though since it was 20 years ago it is too far in the past to do anything about it now.
a groinal and anal exam for a broken ankle? i hate to jump to conclusions, but that would appear to be the case. i would reccommend going and inquiring at the hospital as to whether or not that is standard practice, and if they give you a funny look then complain. and if you can, try and find the guy who did it, and tell them without alerting him, as he can be charged.
