Will the used condom be discovered!??
Question: My dumb partner decided to flush our used condom down the toilet. He said he wanted to see if it would work. The problem is that toilet didn't work do well in the first place, it doesn't flush completely. Well the condom went down and we didn't see any trace of it, but could it be stuck somewhere in the pipes? If a plumber comes over to fix the toilet at some point, will it be discovered??? That would be horribly embarassing as this occured at my parents' house.
Answers: Plumbers are used to finding condoms, panty pads and disposable nappies in sewage pipes. Luckily the condom should deteriorate and even if it is there it will degrade eventually.
However if I was the dad I'd just laugh it off and be relieved that I have a sensible daughter, if not such a sensible boyfriend.
i hardly doubt it will be stuck in a pipe, i wouldnt worry about it
Plumber will most likely find it, probably won't say anything about it.It won't be the first time for him/her.
You don't have to worry about anything. . .there's no way really a condom could be stuck in a drain. If it filled up with water, it would bust and go on down the drain.
even though you say the toilet doesnt work that good i doubt if its still in the pipe
Contrary to what most of your responders said condoms can be caught on a rough spot on the inside of a pipe. If a plumber has to unclog the pipe they would not be surprised to find one. The only way your parents would find out is if they asked what caused the blockage and the plumber told them what he found. The worse offenders for clogging drains are Tampons, Sanitary Napkins and Disposable Diapers. It is also normal for grease and sludge to build up in a pipe. It is far more likely that one of these would cause the problem rather than a condom.
When I read the title of your question I thought you wanted a new type of condom being invented........:-))
I know of something similar occuring. My brother threw the condom out in the toilet, flushed it, and well, it cloggged up the entire toilet and almost flooded the bathroom.
It can be rather embarassing, but need not worry, because afterall you both did get laid....
For future reference, condoms are not meant to be flushed and should be disposed of in the proper recepticle.
use a plunger to get it out.
Do you think some one is going to take out all the gunk from a clogged toilet drain and identify a used condom. You are nuts.
First of all nothing will get stuck any where in the drain, and no one is going to chase after it.
It is a possibility. Does the toilet flush slow? Or takes its time when flushed? As long as the flush doesn't stall out it should go down the pipe just fine.
Flush twice and it is gone. Of course, when flushing condoms, always fill them with water first- otherwise they may float and be stuck as you worry about, or not even flush at all.
Plumbers see all kinds of crap (figuratively and actually) so i wouldn't worry
