Scoliosis Surgery?? Please Help!!??
Question: I'm 14 and I'm having scoliosis surgery next monday and I'm really worried!! I need to know everything about this surgery!! they are taking out a rib and using it to fuse my spine or something like that. i'm really nervose, and I'm mad cuz my best friend said she was not going to come and see me in the hospital!!

Answers: hahahah.. dont worry..i had a scoliosis surgery when i was 15..im 16 right now...it doesnt hurt...only ur muscles do since they are shifted.. it was quite a fun experience for me cuz the hospital i stayed at was fun and had good food =] i was readin some patient stories and i thought they were crazy for likin their scoliosis and woudl have the surgery over agaain..but ot i totally agree with them

Your doctor MUST explain you EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!before surgery.
You have to know all,then you wil go to your surgery calm and happy.
Surgery is to do something good for you,not something bad.
Explaining all the steps here is a little difficult,and the best person to do that is your surgeon.
Call him today,and make an appointment together with your parents!!

With the technology of today's medical science I would say don't worry you will be fine. I had it done when I was 14 and now at 41 I am fine so hang in there and your friend is afraid to see you in pain that is why she says she does not want to see you there. Just tell her that you understand why you may be surprised and she may show up. Good Luck and Best Wishes to you and you will be in my prayers.
um....i wish you a speedy recovery, but you should really be relaxing and trying not to stress before your surgery.......
type it into the search engine on your cp. It should give you all the info you need. If your overly concerned talked to your parents and doctor. The doctor should answer all of your questions and address any fears. Good luck. And for your friend don't get too upset. Some people just can't handle being in a hospital. Even to just visit someone.
