My stomach is a little queasy today. Any way to settle it down??
Question: I think I may have been eating too poorly recently and its catching up to me.
Answers: warm, flat soda (ginger ale?) and some saltine crackers.
For a few days, drink your drinks about 10-20 minutes after you eat because the mixture is bad for your stomach especially if your queazy.
dont drink milk or eat icecream. stay away from lactose because it is harder for your body to digest than most other foods.
Taks some tums or pepto-bismo and watch tv for an hour or two to get your mind off of your stomach and on to something else.
Try not to lay down or read. sit up straight and dont exercise or move excessivly.
When your stomach feels better, try not to eat sugary food. eat bland foods like bannanas and toast. for proteing eat peanut butter. stay away from lactose for a while.
eat saltines (crackers) and sip on sprite oe 7up. If you keep that down, then try some chicken noodle soup. Also you can take some pepto bismal. It really does help.
You can try drinking gingerale, or flat coca cola. Pepto bismal can help also. If you're into natural - peppermint tea is nice.
Try to lay down with your head slightly elevated. Breathe deeply (in thru your nose, exhale thru mouth) for a few minutes. Concentrate on relaxing the stomach and surrounding area.
Now,using your thumb, apply light pressure on your wrist-about 3-4 inches above where your palm ends. Do this to each side for a few min each.
I was feeling BARFY this AM and followed these steps...feel all better now!
Also, try to have a light HIGH protein meal...like plain chicken or turkey, cottage cheese, etc. Lay off coffee, cola, tea, etc for a day.
There is a old remedy take a half glass water put baking soda just a little bit on end of the spoon, stir it into the water. It will either settle it down or bring it up but you will feel better one way or the other. Hope this helps, I use it and it works for me.
