What meds/condition would a doc prescribe that restricts drinking coffee, but other caffeine or alcohol is ok??

Question: I have a friend that I'm concerned about her health. The only thing I know is she's been on meds for 2 years and cannot drink coffee. She said she's allowed to drink any other caffeinated products as well as alcohol, but no coffee. Any idea on meds / diagnosis?
Answers: Difficult to say exactly without further information about her medical condition and current drug therapy, perhaps the drugs she is on react adversley with coffee in particular, but if this is the case unusual to be alowed other caffeine products, best for her to ask her Doc why !
None at all and I am a practice nurse qualified for over 20 years

not sure if meds would restrict drinking coffee. I suffer from migranes and my doc told me 2 avoid things such as coffee cheese chocolate & ice cream, just a thought.
I can't see any possible medical or science base for this suggestion. Perhaps she has misinterpreted what her doctor advised. Either way her doctor really should have explained the reasoning behind any restriction. She should go back and ask him.
No not really, only thing I can suggest is she has an allergy that may cause serious health problems if she drinks coffee.

Simply she may just be allergic to the coffee bean.
