Health concerns in my friends 4 year old??

Question: my friends son is 4. He is a very smart little boy, but he has a couple of physical differences compared to the growth and developement of other 4 year olds. He has a very difficult time speaking and being understood. there are a few words that we can understand, but when he gets into a situation where he gets very excited there is no way anyone knows what he is saying. I am not sure if the lack of communication with him has caused him to be somewhat of a loner. when he comes to play with my 4 year old, after a while he would much rather sit and watch tv. he doesnt socialize well or make friends with other kids. He also has a hard time with noises. We have a bathroom that the fan turns on when the light is on and when that is on he gets upset and covers his ears. Flushing the toilet also seems to bother him. The other problm he seems to have issues with is that his second and third toe on both feet cross over each other. He is not as steady on his feet as he should be. mother denies.
Answers: Some mothers have a difficult time admitting to themselves that their child may have a problem. I think I would be somewhat concerned as well. You have obviously spoken to your friend not much more you can do at this point . The child will soon be going to school and any problems will be addressed. A team of professionals will test the child and help the mother deal with it if there is really a need. The best thing you can do for your friend is not say I told you so and support her if the need arises.
Kids talk when they want to. You can't force them. The more you force them, the farther they withdrawal. Speech therapy is probably the best thing. Or seeing a Specialist to get a psycological point of view would help alot!
