Bothered by tinnitus??

Question: How serious the noise in ears caused by tinnitus? When i am in an empty room or quiet place like library, there is loud ringing noise in both my ears which is quite unberarable. However, when i am at open-spaced places, the ringing noise can not be heard. Does my condition fit the diagnosis of tinnitus?
Answers: I've had this my hole life. I think the aliens are trying to contact me. I couldn't diagnose you sorry. Don't jump off any high buildings.

It most certainly does
I have had this problem for 40 years since I was in the forces. It is caused by hairs in the ear being damaged usually by loud noises.

Tinnitus can be temporary but as in my case it is obviously long term. The noises I suffer are like having two miss tuned radios one by each ear and they have a different high pitched tone.

My symptoms seemed to have worsened over time until now if a person is not facing me (so that I can read their lips) I have great difficulty hearing them.

In a quite room I can hear the tones but in a noisy place (like a pub) all the sounds seem to merge into one, so that I find it very difficult to keep track of conversations.

Doctors unfortunately don't have a cure for this condition at this time.
