Is this normal??

Question: My heart speeds up out of nowhere and I get a sort of panic attack.Yesterday, my heart sped up, my chest started hurting and my body went numb and I was shaking uncontrollably. It went away in about 2 minutes. I wasn't doing anything, just sitting there. I'm 14 years old and 105 pounds. Is there a diagnosis guys? Please don't say to go to doctor because I don't want to worry my parents considering that they are both heart patients and diabetics.
Answers: I agree. You need to see the doctor. It could be nothing or it could be something important, but we can't know that here... only your doctor will be able to tell you for sure.

Like the previous post said, you can tell your parents you need a check up, and give the doctor the information instead. Once you know what is going on, or that more tests need to be done, you can share with your parents. They will want to know so that they can help you and advise you and possibly offer medical history information that you and your doctor may need.

Don't hesitate, ok?
It's probably anxiety, but just to play it safe you really need to open up to your parents.

You are probably scared to death for your parents, and that's okay to feel that way, but let them be your parents and let them take care of you.

They are stronger than you think.
NO, there are several conditions that cause tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) in people of all ages. Most have to do with the SA node (actually invisible) that regulates electrical impulses responsible for regular heart rhythm. Even asthma may cause heart strain as well as many over the counter medications. You do need a 24 hr holster EKG at a minimum. I'd see my MD now and follow it up until you have the issue resolved. Worrying about it and doing nothing won't benefit you at all. Relax, I've known lots of children, teens, and young adults w/these conditions. They all improved, some w/medication and most without.
You will worry them a whole lot more if you skip the doctor. Go before it gets worse. GO soon!
You may be having a panic attack of sort. It is a psychiatric condition which needs prompt treatment. Please go to a child psychiatrist so that he/she can give prompt diagnosis and treatment to it.

I know you don't want to hear it but you really should go to the Dr. especially with you family history. Whatever it is could turn into something very serious. Just tell them you need a checkup and tell the Dr. what is going on.
Yes you should go to the doc you are way to young for this type of problem an if you play sports this could be fatal if you dont , see one soon i mean yesterday. GOOD LUCK!
