What are !CD-9 codes??

Question: need answer to request medical diagnosis of neurological condition due to brain injury post motor vehical accident and to recieve social security assistance
Answers:  ICD-9 codes are the numbers assigned to certain diagnoses, treatments, and procedures to identify illnesses and operations for billing and compensation systems.
Each bodily system - respiratory, circulatory, pulmonary - has a three-digit number assigned to it and the other numbers identify which part of that system (nose, throat, bronchus) has what wrong with it (infection, cancer, trauma) and others added on to indicate cause and severity.
For instance, the common cold - a viral upper respiratory infection - has the ICD-9 code of 464.9 or upper respiratory infection, not otherwise stated . Confusing, isn't it? They do that on purpose.
Your doctor should be able to provide this. It is a billing code which indicates a diagnosis.
International Classification of Disease, 9th edition. These are codes that the medical industry uses to define conditions to submit claims to insurance, etc.
Every disease or condition has an ICD-9 code. You will need to look up your condition in the ICD-9 code book to find out what it is.
First of all, it is not !CD-9 . It is actually ICD-9 codes. It stands for International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision . The medical community uses this system to standardize the diagnosis of diseases. I am not a medical professional but I have worked with these codes in the past with my job in the field of computerized medical records.

There are a variety of sources of ICD-9 and ICD-9/CM codes around the web that you can find. Just do a search and you should be able to find it.
It is actually ICD-9 codes, not !CD-9 codes. Also referred to dx codes or diagnosis codes. They are numbers assigned to different medical conditions. For example 847 is described as sprain of the back. The numbers range from 1-999. There can also be numbers such as 847.1,847.2 and so on. If you want to look-up a certain diagnosis code (ICD-9) I would check the Wikipedia website and type in ICD-9. It should provide you with a list of codes and descriptions. There are several mental conditions codes you will need to search for to find the correct one you looking for.

It is a classifcation system of Diseases.
