Sharp pain in ear??
Question: over the weekend i was having terrible sinus headaches. i started flushing out my sinuses with salt water and the headache was gone by sat night. this morning i keep having a sharp pain in my ear. is this related to the sinus pain? i have no fever or other symptoms of anything. is it possibly an ear infection even though i don't have fever or just an earache? i really don't want to be put on antibiotics and i know if i go to the doc i will be whether i need them or not.
Answers: I know what u mean about the docs! These days, all they do is prescribe something fast without really checking you. In my opinion, they do that just so they can see more patients and make more money for themselves and for the goverment by making patients pay for medication they dont really need! I suggest you go to the pharmacy and by polysporin ear drops or something similar like a combo of ear/eye drops. It works great and it's cheap.
They could very well be related. Sharp pains in the ear, obviously, are not a good sign. Seek medical attention as soon as possible.
Go to the doctor.
I would go to the doc. If you happen to have an ear infection, you certainly do not want to let it go untreated.
i say wait another day or so and then go to the doc, but if it gets worse soon then go right away. you can never be too safe.
The last time I had sharp pain in my ear, doctor pulled out a tiny maggot from my ear canal... Wonder how it got there...
I had something similar before christmas, no other symptoms except really bad earache. My doctor tries not to put people on antibiotics unless absolutely necessary, so I was told vitamin C and paracetamol at night (when it was worse) but it's worth going to see your GP to make sure you haven't perforated your eardrum
