Hips...knees??
Question: I am 16 (girl) and For the past year, I have had some hip/ knee probs. With my hips when I walk they feel like they r popping in and out of place, U can see the bone moving when I walk, and if you put your hand on my hip, you can feel it pop, this is very painful and pretty much happens every step I take. And w/ my knees, they feel lose and r always swollen w/ fluid or somthing, and my if I sit a certain way I feel like my left knee bones r grinding togetyher and when i go to get up, I can't because my knee is STUCK bent, and normally stays that way for like an hour. I have been to excel Orthapedics and gotten x-rays, and was told there was nothing i cud do but physical therapy. I have been in PT for 3 months, and it has been progressing, but the pysical therapist says its fine. I KNOW its not fine, I am in soo much pain. What can I do for the pain (meds r NOT working!!!)?
And as for getting a doc to give me some sorta diagnosis what kind of doc should I call?
Answers: Try acupressure/acupuncture.
tylenol, advil, prescription lortitab( i might have spelled it wrong), or bayer. they usually work
massage works well
Always get a second opinion. Find out what medical plan your parents are utilizing and use the system. Don't ever settle for an answer you know isn't right.
Start with your family doctor. He or she can refer you to a specialist. But please don't put it off. You may have bone rubbing against bone, which does permanent damage, or you may have arthritis in your joints. You doctor will know more after you have your current x-rays done, but I definately recommend going to a specialist.
Maybe your a little bit thin try gain a few pounds so you wont see it popping out. Try walking differently.
