I'm going in for routine wisdom tooth removal, but under anesthesia, can you have a near death experience??
Answers: Unless you have an allergic reaction to the anesthetic, I would not think so. They will be monitoring your heart rate and such so as to make sure this is not happening. If you have been under anesthesia before and had no problems, the likelihood of an experience like that is very unlikely. You have nothing to worry about. You will be out before you know it and not remember a thing from the surgery. Just relax and you will be okay. I had my wisdom teeth out in February and I made a big deal of nothing.
oh God why are you asking? I'm having my wisdom out next week, hope I don't have that! I'm nervous enough as is!!!
Any time you go under anesthesia you accept some risks, but most of those risks are relatively small. But, you certainly could have a near death experience.
Hun, I don't want to scare you, but I lost my father because he didn't know he was allergic to the anesthesia they used. So, growing up, I'm always 'that girl with no dad' because I was 4 when he passed away.
any time you go under anesthesia there is a chance of death, but it's very very rare. I work in a dental office, and it's never ever happened, nore have I heard of it .
Not unless it nearly kills you. Very very rare. You will just get tired and fall asleep, then be dazed and groggy for a while afterwards. It kind of sucks (the wisdom tooth removal), but ultimately not that big of a deal.
I doubt it. The anesthesia makes you totally relaxed and you will be just fine. I had mine out that way and so did all five of my children. Follow the post op instructions to the letter and you will be just fine!
