Back problems??

Question: i have these really bad pains in the middle of my back on the left side of my spine. a doctor confirmed i have scoliosis. but seeing as i'm young i shouldnt be in this much pain so ive seen some specialists and i had a test for lyme disease but the results havent come back, and a spine surgeon said i could have a disk disease. we're still going to run tests but i was wondering if anyone else knew what this could be. the pain gets so bad that i cant sit or stand, or even move my head sometimes. no medicines like ibuprofin or asprin touches it at all and doctors say i cant take muscle relaxants because of my age. anything will be helpful.
Answers: Poor thing!!

Check out this site: http://www.spine-health.com/topics/cd/sc...

It should help you understand what is happening with your back. Dont stress, there are tons of ways to fix spine problems.

I just had an operation where they took out a disc, and took a bone graft from my hip and stuck it in the space where the disc used to be. Then they put rods and screws in my back, and a battery to stimulate the bone graft. Talk about pain!!!

Anyway, I am not a doctor, but it sounds like you may have some nerves being pressed by a disc or something else. This can cause great amounts of pain, and also not allow you to move your head.

Hang in there, and Im sure your doc will be able to give you some more answers soon. AND, now they have really neat ways of dealing with scoliosis....

good luck
I work as a PT. There are exercises you can do to stabilize the area. We can also help reduce the pain with several modalities. There is also bracing available if it is deemed appropriate. See an orthopedic doctor and get into Physical Therapy ASAP. There are several factors to be considered, so don't take crazy advice off the web. I am not sure of your weight, but if you are overweight you need to get the weight down. That is a huge factor in reducing back pain.

You poor thing You'll just have to be patient and find out the results of your tests. I suffer from back pain badley so I know what you mean. I just got those z-coil shoes to see if they help two days ago. So far no back and hip during work .
