Since i was born ive had eye problems, and they thought it was astigmatism, but they changed it to aphoria...??
Question: i'm not sure even how to pronounce it, if its an aphoria or a phorier or whatever, but i have it in my left eye and im just wondering what it is. if i look to the left, my left eye doesnt follow.. it cuts off at my nose; and if i block my right eye, my left one goes wild i guess. any idea whats going on? thanks:)
Answers: You have a phoria. A phoria is a tendency of the eye to not be straight ahead but to turn in one direction or the other. When the tendency is to turn out it is called an exophoria and with a tendency to turn in, esophoria. It's not uncommon for people to have a small amount of a phoria but if it gets large enough it could become a tropia - where the eye sits turned out most of the time.
