What can I do to feel better??
Question: A week ago today I had major surgery due to severe scoliosis. I'm home now, and my back hurts a lot, but even worse, my stomach feels sick so I don't fell like eating anything. I'm scared that right now it's dangerous to not eat because f all the acid in my stomach but I'm also scared that if I eat I'll throw up. Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks!
Answers: Have you tried ingesting some thing light? Try crackers or anything liquid (soups that don't have much chunkiness to them) for right now. Your body gets energy from food so the absence of food puts a strain on your body. Try light foods (foods that can be ingested by a person having tooth problems) Light foods are easy on the stomach because they digest easily. Speak to a Medical Doctor and explain your concerns.
Hope you feel better
Eat small amounts every hour instead of 3 meals a day.
I know it's hard but i would try some yogurt or maybe even milkshakes. Just to give you something in your tummy.
As much as you dont want to eat right now its important so that your body can start getting nutrients, healing, getting strength. I would start with light things such as toast, cereal, broths or just the broth from soups. Drink plenty of fluids juices and water will help. Happy Healing!
The key to this situation is moderation and a bland diet. I would start with some clear warm broth (chicken or vegetable) and a few saltine crackers. Start small, and as your acid levels and nausea begin to deminish you can increase your portions and your diet. You really should keep your self hydrated, and if you do get sick, allow your stomach to rest for 2 hours. Then I would start with just fluid, and add crackers. The more you have in your stomach the better it will feel after taking those pain meds. Good luck.
start out with a small amount of clear chicken broth.
Next try a few crackers.
Start slowly, and increase the amount as time goes by.
If you still have problems in a couple of days, go to your doctor.
The doctor can give you a anti-vomiting drug.
Best of luck.
I hope that you feel better soon
Try saltine crackers and sucking or chewing ice chips. You need fluids as well as food. After that try clear broth with the crackers and Sprite or 7up.
try eating reaaly light, like crackers or dry toast and drink sprite.. if the bubbles in the soda hurt shake it ot stir it to get the fizz out. good luck..hope you feel better
go lay down on bed if you can't eat the don't mack yourself
try eating something light, like a small bowl of soup, bestwishes and a speedy recovery
Thanks!
