Low pulse (in the 40s)??

Question: Well, I've been laying down for a while, so I imagine this is as low as it goes, but...

Does it mean anything to have a pulse of say, 47? I'm not at all in shape; I've been sick for quite a while and in bed mostly. And it's off a monitor (BP 105/65, btw, if that helps) - so I'm pretty sure it's accurate.

I'm seeing doctors and all that but having trouble with a diagnosis. Does this mean anything?
Answers: Most conditioned athletes can get a pulse rate in the 40s to 60s, but, seeing, as you said, you are not in shape at all, this is not good. I would go see a doctor about this, as soon as possible. Some more information at the site below.

Don't know if this is good advise for sure, but I have low blood pressure. (not as low as yours, but was getting close). What I have done is started adding some salt not alot to my diet and it seems to keep it up.
Please check this out with your Dr. before trying, mine suggested it. Good Luck.
