Can an alergist diagnose ciliac disease? or can diagnosis only come from a gluetin free diet??
Answers: Actually, it usually takes a little more than just a simple blood test.
If a doctor suspects you have it, he should do a small intestinal biopsy to look for anything out of the ordinary.
An allergist could probably tell you that you should see a doctor and have that done. But an allergist wouldnt do the procedure unless hes specialized in that field also.
Once its concluded that you do look like you have celiac, and start a gluten-free diet, its only after the symptoms go away that you will actually have an official diagnosis of celiac disease.

I would suggest going to www.webmd.com , I use that resource a lot, in fact just the night before last my daughter called regarding her fathers symptoms. If you are having some symptoms, there is a symptom checker which is real easy to use or you can key in Celiac disease and it will tell you all about it as well as action that should be taken.
