Involuntary leg kick just before i fall asleep??
Question: for the past year or so i have notice that about once per month just before i am about to dose of to sleep without any warning my right leg kick up and falls down it happens very quickly. i spoke to my doctor and she said if it gets worse come back to see her. i am concerned and would some type of diagnosis or hear from someone else who may have experienced it.
Answers: ive often done that but ive usually been dreaming about falling!
face it now that way if it is serious, which it probably isn't, then you have the best chance of beating it, by the sounds of it though, it is either neural or muscle related
If it happens every once in a while, it is not unusual. Like your doctor said, if it gets worse and interferes w/ your sleep, go back and see her. It could be restless leg syndrome (RLS.) Some studies have shown that RLS may be associated w/ low iron. Try taking a multivitamin daily and see if that helps. Try googling restless leg syndrome for more info.
It's normal. Forget about it.
I think its called a Myoclonic Twitch (Myoclonus).
its when the body is going to sleep and the brain mistakes it for the body dying and sends an electrical pulse to the limbs to jump start it hence the leg jerks. its a very common thing so dont worry about it.
i have it happen several times a week.
it happens to my brother had got a broken leg
