How many processes do you have to go through to get the final diagnosis for autism??

Question: Or autism spectrum disorders?
first we saw the family doctor, he has refered us to the pediatrician, then what? we all are pretty sure that's what he has. So why so much waiting? why do we have to prolong it? I Just want to know what for sure so that I can learn how to give him the proper tools he needs to get through life, and coping skills.
Answers: We have been where you are. It sucks.
How old is your child? It can be very difficult to test young children. Because of this a diagnosis of PDD or persuasive developmental disorder is often given.
This is usually done by a developmental pediatrician and a child psychologist. It takes one day.
The good news is, despite what you may have been told, is that autism and pdd are treatable and reversible.
