Sometimes after being on my computer for a while I get very dizzy and feel that way for a while why??

Question: I will get so dizzy that i almost have to hold on to something because the ground feels so uneven. But this doesn't happen every day or nothing just once in a while at first I thought it was a inner ear infection, but went to the doctor and was not really givin a diagnosis.Sometimes I will go months with no problem, and then BAHM there it is.,this makes it hard for me to do alot of things like work!Has anyone else had this happen to them what is it? Please no smart ***'s either I will happily give whomever a best anwser for a honest input thank you..
Answers: We have patients that come in with this problem and it usually turns out to be migraine related vertigo. One person in particular has this exact problem. Do you ever feel your eyes kind of jumping? This is called nystagmus. You should see an audiologist so that you can have some hearing and balance testing done. If you have one particular type of dizziness called BPPV, an audiologist, ENT or neurologist can perform a treatment that will clear the dizziness up for you and you may never have it again. If you don't have BPPV, you may have to have full balance testing called an ENG or VNG (depending on the kind of equipment they use). Normally treatment for this is eye exercises and slight diet modification. But with these small changes, the majority of our patients can keep their balance under control! Don't let the doctors talk you into taking antivert or meclinzine, they only dull your symptoms-they don't help your problem! Good luck and I hope you feel better!
Sounds like you may need a glare screen, or an eye exam. Also, try not to stay on for long periods. Limit your time and take breaks from looking at the monitor. I had similar issues and I got a glare screen, now I don't get the blurred vision or dizziness anymore.

Good Luck.
the problem probably is the fact that you might be sitting to close to your computer. this sometimes happens to me, but not as bad, and also while watching t.v. Try sitting a little bit (or a lot) farther out each time you log on. another answer might be that your monitor is turning weird on you. if it is really old, I suggest replacing it. the third answer might be that it has nothing to do with either of these things, and might even deal with your lifestyle (aka what you eat, exercise, ect.) I hope this helps! :)
i feel that way sometines after watching hours of tv and playing on the computer. it is just your eyes siting in front of it for hours my eyes feel like they are glued to the com. sometimes. the tv and computer are not good for you.

Sit back from the computer more, I had this problem and got dizzy a lot your not a lone
I had that problem. You might need to go to an eye doctor and get glasses. my problem was that my eye muscles strain to much.
you are staring at the same thing too long. no matter if you have the best glasses in the world, if you stare at the same point for a long time, you do feel dizzy when you look away
Well, I wear glasses and I'm usually at the computer screen 24/7.

My eyes turn REALLY sore and eventually my eye sockets look like they're about to explode.

So don't take aspirin, it'll just make you dizzier.

Take some time off the computer. Relax, a nap maybe.

Read a book, or go to the doctor for an eye exam.
