I have scoliosis??
Question: should i be working at ups, all i do is lift boxes in to trailers... or is it un healthy for my back ?
Answers: Yes it is unhealthy... I had scoliosis too until i got a neck adjustment and i dont have it anymore, and hats what u need too (a neck adjustment)... I suggest u find urself a chiropractor and ask him for a neck adjustment, because thats all u need... Gud luck... ( for the chiropractor i recommend u going to Upper Cervical Care , thats were i went ... Just google it...) Much Luck...
It depends on how bad your curve is. If you have a mild-to-moderate curve, it probably doesn't matter. I'd guess that the more severe your curve, the quicker your back could get tired, but lifting boxes won't make your back worse, especially if you use proper lifting technique.
See your scoliosis specialist if you have questions.
By the way, chiropractors, message therapists, acupuncturists, etc., also can't fix scoliosis. These people adjust the soft, connective tissues and that may (or may not, you can't tell ahead of time) make you feel better, but remember, scoliosis is not a connective tissue disease. Your spine is growing curved.
You need to speak to a doctor. There may or may not be restrictions or maybe you just need to be sure you are lifting with your legs & not your back (proper body mechanics).
