Scoliosis.. what is the best way to fix this??
Answers: It depends on the severity. There is no quick fix unfortunately. My daughter has scoliosis, right now it's mild and doesn't require treatment. Certain mile stones in her life can change that however, such as a growth spurt.
If it deteriorates, then you can look at wearing a brace, which is physically the least invasive. It is however, not too comfortable and not too effective in the long-term, unless you wear it almost constantly. As soon as a brace is removed and left off, the spine starts to bend again.
The only definite fix, again a lengthy process is spine correction surgery coupled with a brace. It's not too pleasant and recovery is slow, but when it's done, it's done.
Good luck!
i had discovered that i had a scoliosis when i was in college. i was referred to a physical therapist and she gave me a couple of stretching exercises for my back and abdominal muscle strenghtening so it could help support my back.
try consulting a PT because there are certain exercises for certain degree of scoliosis and which vertebrae is affected
There are a few options. If it is mild, they may put the patient in a back brace. If it is more severe they may do a spinal fusion. I got a spinal fusion 16 years ago and I still have pain, so make sure it is very severe before you would opt for surgery.
