Can epitural shots CAUSE back pain??
Question: I didn't have back pain before receiving (3) epidural shots. I was given these shots because scoliosis and bulging discs (l-2,l-3,l-4) were indicated from x-rays.
Answers: The reason you have pain is that the needle leaves a small hole (very small) but big enough for leakage of spinal fluid. It is this leakage that causes you pain. It should go away once the healing has occurred. Number two reason for pain is you are entering an area that contains the center for ALL of your nerves. It is virtually impossible not to nick, poke or irritate something.
If it continues you should see your doctor again.

shots are only used for pain relief..and has no curative value..
sounds like malpractice...
yes epidural can cause pain as many pregnant women can testify to that lol..
anyway...it sound very unusual that someone would prescribe epidural for someone without symptoms...
