Do you think enough is being done to learn about autism??
Question: The new numbers for autism diagnosis are 1 in every 166. Some are even estimating every 1 in 150. But is seems like all we get out of the medical community is a shrug and a Hmmm, weird.
Answers: I believe that they are working on it but like all medical research, it will take time to fine out things.
The problem with research is everytime a study finds a link to autism, 10 pop up and say there is no link. If you look closely, those that say there is no link are heavy funded by pharmaceutical companies. Pay attention to the whole study, because some are definitely flawed and designed to mislead the public. I found one that said hyperbaric treatments cause oxidative stress and should not be used in autism but looking closely they used 2 atmospheres of pressure not 1.5 atmospheres which does not cause oxidative stress. Some say vitamins are bad for you but include the very sick and dying in their studies. The major hurtle is the government fears that someone is going to prove the vaccines damage the body in more kids than previously stated. Autism is really a disease caused by immune and gastrointestinal dysfunction. When kids are treated for underlying medical conditions, their autistic symptoms either disappear or decline sharply. This is where the research should be headed. Unfortunately, the medical community has not responded favorably, preferring to give drugs to control behavior.
The government need to change the vaccination schedule so that children are not exposed to many vaccines so early in life. This will put to rest the question that autism is triggered by vaccination.

Well you never know what research is going on behind doors. My mom was a therapist for autisum and there is some research going on now. But there is also alot of politics involved too.
I don't feel like there doing nearly enough for Autism! My son who's got a couple of Autism symptoms has yet to be diagnosed with it... I also think it has to do with the immunizations .I notice everything started to happen to him after he got several shots before the age of 1...I think it was a bad batch and the government will not own up to its mistake because they know they've ruined millions of peoples life!!
People are born with Autism. it has nothing to do with external causes. As far as vaccinations go, they have NOTHING, and I repeat, NOTHING to do with Autism. It's just that the symptoms usually start around the time vaccinations occur. I know--I'm Autistic. There is nothing wrong with Autism, either. You normal people may have difficulty understanding us, but try your best. You have a lot to learn.
And yes, I think people should be working harder to learn about Autism, but it shouldn't be prevention. It should be understanding.
P.S. Pleeeeaaaasse vaccinate your kids. I'm worried for them.

giving Sam the supII he has shown rapid steady improvement in ALL
areas. Stimming, bowels, aggression, eye contact, fine motor skills,
EVERTHING! It has been incredible. Everybody who knows him has
commented on it. The errorless learning occupational therapist was
very excited last week about how far he has advanced in such a short
period of time. She said; guys, it just doesn't happen this way .
Adding the supII is the only change we have made. We now have great
hope that we may actually be able to mainstream Sammy into
kindergarten and dare to dream he may drop off the spectrum. Whatever
will be will be though. Please tell Mr Lange how happy we are with
his products-and detox protocol so far.
Their is always room for improvement whether it is autism or some other medical problem.We need to continue to research to find a solution to enable people to enrich their lives better.
There is an organization out there called Autism Speaks. My sister-in-law is involved because her son is Autistic. You should definitely check out the website at autismspeaks.org. There are also several universities that are researching Autism as well as Alzheimer's.

Some of the reasons can be simple. Pregnant moms didn't used to be put under stress. Now they are. It should be no coincidence that the state with the highest rates of autism have the highest cost of living. CA...
I am parent of a child with autism. The stress I had while pregnant would certainly had some effect on the growing mind of my baby in my womb. In my case, I may have had undiagnosed aspergers and my spouse had depression. The combination of problems could also have caused autism in our child..Yes, it could also be mercury poisoning too. My whole family is sensitive to chemicals and additives in cleaning and food prodcuts.
I am finding a way to get a Ph.D in Psychology because no one is willing to explore this basic reasons as a cause for autism...
My sister is 40 yrs old preg. w/ twins and she is horrified of having autistic children. She said if she does, she doesn't know what she is going to do.
I feel so badly for mothers of children with this disease. God bless your souls!
I don't know whether autism is purely physiological, or purely psychogenic, or a combination of both. I tend to think it's more psychogenic, but if I'm wrong I don't really give a damn. I'm just interested in truth.
But there is one thing I know. Modern researchers, except for psychoanalysts and psychiatrists, refuse to even think about the possibility that autism might be due to trauma in infancy. Everybody who dares to consider the psychogenesis of autism is shouted down by ideologues with guilty consciences who lash out at anyone who wants to examine all possibilities . As long as this attitude prevails, true enlightenment is impossible.

When my son was a baby he got his first DPT shot ( born Nov. 21 and got shot at the end of Jan.) he became very sick and had to be hospitalized. He had a weird type of Spinal Meningitis. He never started talking, never made eye contact, walked on his toes and flapped his hands, was fascinated with watching the same thing on TV over and over, you could scream his name and he would not look but if you turn on the show he liked he would look. At 18 months old they told me he was autistic. I will always believe it came from the shot. I would give anything to see a cure found, I would be happy if they just found something to help him improve his quality of life, I hope they can figure out how to stop more kids from being born with autism so other parents will not have to go through what me and so many other parents are going through.
