Male, mid 20's, has sharp pain in chest just left, behind sternum. diagnosis??

Question: pain increases within 2-3 deep breaths, then fades away. he's a smoker and moderatly active. tests show a healthy heart and no irregularities in vitals.
Answers: he's a smoker, that pretty much says it, the sharp pain is bronchospasm.
Its a build up of tar in the small arteries of the lung. They become clogged and unusable. WHen you take deep breathes you are punching your way through them and it causes deeper blockage. Sounds great doesnt it? If this continues he may be looking at asthma not far down the road and emphasema. Hes well on the road to it. If he wants to quit, check out the new drug Chantix (persription only). Worked great for two of my friends who smoked for years.
gas pocket, heart burn, several various causes, however if the pain persists, by wednesday organize a visit with your doctor. This also happens to be when im in the water too long, or if im reallllly hungry.
Could be something called 'pleurisy' - inflammation of the lining of the chest cavity.
