Answers: Hematuria is blood in the urine. It may be caused by damage in any part of the urinary system from the kidneys to the bladder. It can also be coming from the reproductive system. There can be a false positive when you are having your period as menstrual blood may get into the urine and cause the test to show abnormal amounts of blood in the urine. However, any damage or problems in your reporductive system can cause blood to show up in your urine as well. It is not something that should be taken lightly, as it could be something as serious as cancer. Proper testing should be done to find the root of the problem.
